London Bidding

Over the past two weeks, the world's two chief auction houses, Sotheby's and Christie's International PLC, brought in just over $1 billion during a major round of summer auctions of Impressionist, modern and contemporary art in London. Sales were up 19% from $879 million at similar auctions last summer. Here are a few of the top-selling lots. (See related article.)
